ABOUT
'26 Seconds' is a dramatic feature documentary focusing on the horrors of global sex trafficking. This film is a 3-stage project that reveals the global epidemic of child sex trafficking. The 1st stage was the multi-award winning Documentary Short 26 Seconds. The 2nd stage is the feature documentary 26 Seconds - ISIS SEX SLAVES available now on Epoch TV. The 3rd stage is a docuseries filmed right here in our own backyards in the USA. In raw intimate interviews, the audience gets a shocking glimpse into the lives of children and women from various cultures and regions; which include vivid details of how each victim was captured or lured into the sex trade, the horrors of their captivity, and the commitment of each individual and non-profit organization in the fight to eradicate global sex trafficking.
The 26 Seconds documentary project will raise awareness of this urgent issue and challenge each of us to stand up for innocent children and women worldwide. This film will educate audiences and give a voice to those who have been silenced. This film will deliver a compelling and emotional journey and raise awareness of this urgent issue around the world. This is a timely reminder of the value of vigilance in the fight for equality and freedom. Human trafficking is the fastest-growing illegal industry in the world. There are more slaves today than any time in history. The economic benefits of selling women and children are irrefutable. The sex trade is predicated on one undeniable reality: Everyday around the world, women and children are raped, bought, and sold every 26 Seconds.
COMMITMENT
The 26 Seconds documentary project will change the world as I am committed to bringing awareness in front of those on Capitol Hill at state and federal levels who can bring about necessary changes to legislation to protect victims and survivors from the sex trade.
“Film is my commitment to creating work that matters in our world, I wanted to film a documentary on global sex trafficking because it is a fast-growing and horrific industry that tragically affects every child and woman worldwide. We can either do something or nothing. I simply chose to do something with the resources and creative talent I possess and have access to as a professor in film. As a filmmaker, my intention was to tell the story. It was not possible to tell the story of human trafficking unless I visited the countries and met the victims trapped in the sex trade face-to-face – the pimps and madams who sell them, and the johns who buy them – but the true heroes are the nonprofit organizations that rescue, restore, and reintegrate these innocent children and young women. Creating awareness is not enough; a call to action is ALL of our responsibility. It will not only take an army of heroes but also a village of ordinary people like you and me.”- Director/Producer Kelly Galindo
